Good Morning
I have been asked for some advice from a safety officer in another factory to mine but within the same company and I just would like to know if anyone else has come across anythng like this before. He has an employee who has a very sever form of epilepsy. His seizures are unpredictable and he starts by taking his clothes off and becomming violent prior to the seizure. His colleagues are very frightened and do not wish to work with him. As when this happens they are sometimes pinned into a corner. The saftey officer wanted to know if i had a template of a risk assessment he could use and if there was anything else I could recommend. The employee has been to see and OHP( this was on an ad hock basis ) apparently and the work place do not feel he is fit to be placed at work at this time however the saftey officer is expecting his actions to be srutinised as the parents of the employee feel he could work. In my opinion with a case like this there is also a duty of care to the other employees. I have also not heard of such a situation of violence and nudity associated with epilepsy. Has anyone got a template that could be used in these situations that they are willing to share please.
