A church and a church
pushing into the sky
one in a marsh
the smaller on massive rock
such our ingenuity
A chapel on a hill
the church tower higher
though the houses, on Barnoon, tiptoe, looking down
into cold snuggles of light blanket sky
The island’s bare still
for whatever inhibition; sand
is forced inflowing,
hidden pneumatics, the noise
of human interruption
