I'd be very grateful if anyone working in a largish authority such as ourselves here in Devon, would share their experience of introducing "Dynamic Stock".i.e. where stock is not based at one particular library, but is retained at the library to which it is returned by the borrower.
I'd appreciate any advice as regards the pros and cons of this approach, including whether it has resulted in any financial savings and, if so, how this was measured. Does it make more or less work for staff? Are smaller libraries disadvantaged? Is it compatible with your LMS system (ours is Axiell/Galaxy)? Is it compatible with SmartSM?
Any views at all would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
