Framed by 69 pictures and the music of Erik Satie, this is a reading of Catalan erotic poetry written by women since the late 19th century. 52 poems written by 45 authors of the Catalan speaking territories (22 from Catalonia, 15 from Valencia and 8 from Baelaric Islands). The poems will be read by Catalan poets Encarna Sant-Celoni and Maria Fullana and will be read in English by Dr Gwen MacKeith.
Both poets have been sharing readings on stage since 1989 such as 'Les veus de la Medusa (1991), Polsim de nuus (1992), Calidoscopi (1994), Laberints helicoidals (1995), De negre, ran de guerres. Dones contra la guerra (1996), Tres voltes rebel, en homenatge a Maria-Merce Marcal (1996), A joc de dones (1997 and 1998), and Erotiques i despentinades (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010).
Encarna Sant-Celoni has published two novels, two collections of short stories, several works of short fiction and four collections of poetry. She also co-translated works of two Danish poets (Anne Marie Dinesen and Tove Ditlevsen), has translated the epic Finnish poem, the Kalevala by Elias Lönnrot, has participated in numerous acts of homage while her work has appeared in many collective books of poetry, and is the author of the anthology Eròtiques i despentinades (Erotic and disheveled).
Maria Fullana has published 2 books of short-stories, 7 books of poetry and works as a translator.
