Dear Colleagues,
Does anyone has experience with creatinine Jaffé rate blanked on c701
of Cobas 8000 (Roche diagnostics). This kit has an on board stability
of 7 days and needs a daily calibration, from which you can already
conclude that the reagent is quite unstable. We find a between-day
imprecision of 2,5 - 3% for control material (target ~ 1 mg/dL) and
are encountering limits (>8% deviation from target) at a weekly basis.
As we have an important renal transplant department, the quality of
our creatinine measurements has clinical importance. We did not have
these quality issues with the Jaffé kit on Modular P and Cobas 6000
c501.
Due to the quality problems with the c701 kit, we are considering to
switch towards the enzymatic method. Important drawback: the enzymatic
method is 5 times more expensive that the Jaffe method!
Is someone struggling with the same problem?
Kind regards,
