there is a paper in Internat. J. Osteoarchaeology, 3, 1993, on the
distinction of these teeth in cattle. My experience says that sheep end
goat will be much the same, usually possible, but not invariably so,
depending on the degree of wear. Easy in early wear, less so later,
especially when interdental wear is severe.
