Dear Claus and All,
Thanks for your question, Claus, and for any questions anyone else may have. I'm going to beg off answering here -- all four co-authors will be at the special session in Delft, and it seems to me inappropriate to answer any questions in public before we meet.
If you are not in Delft but have questions you wish answered, please direct your questions to Dr. Gerda Gemser, the corresponding author. Her address appears on the article. I hope that we will find a way to answer questions for those who are not in Delft. There is already wide interest in the article, so we must find a reasonable way to address the interest without entering into a dozen different overlapping and repeating conversations in different lists and forums.
Again, the article is available at DOI:

Best regards,
Ken

Thank you for this design journal study.
Looking at table 2 I am wondering about a possible interpretation of the
impact factors.
Irrespective of a particual journal the impact factors in 2009 are below
the average 5-year impact factors. Thus, one could argue that the
overall publication visibility of design research published in design
journals decreases. Is this a valid interpretation? Or why is it flawed?
I am not specialist in this matter. Thus, I am seeking a proper
understanding of the figures.
