From: Thomas Izbicki <[log in to unmask]>
> Innocent did not always get what he wanted. The Fourth Crusade is another
example of what you wanted going terribly awry.
but, what was a poor Innocent to *do*, Tom, in the face of Obdurate "heretics"
who thought he was The Whore of Babylon?
*Love* them to death?
in what way did his scheme "go awry"?
"Can't we all just get along? Let's Play Hierarchy --I' be the Pope."
i truly don't understand.
but, i'm certainly not a "crusade scholar." (though i'd definitely like to
play one on TeeVee.)
