Dear colleagues,
We would like to thank all of you that attended the DRT2011 meeting in Oviedo. For those of you who
were not able to make it, you can download the programme in pdf at the meeting website.
www.geol.uniovi.es/drt2011/Programme.html
We will be editing a conference volume and we open a call for papers that fall into the usual DRT
conference topics. If you are interested, send us an expression of interest by 21 October, indicating
names of authors and a preliminary title for the manuscript. The intention is that we receive all the
manuscripts in May. It would be great if you could also tell us what the highlights of the paper are,
but this is optional.
We have two offers to publish the volume: Geol Soc Special Publication and an Elsevier Journal in the
Earth Sciences division.
The Geological Society of London are making some improvements. Later this year they will be
included in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science, in the new Book Citation Index, which will include
all SPs from 2008 onwards. Authors will be able to find citation counts and the citations will be
included in their h-index. They will also launch soon the 'Online First' for Special Publications,
allowing papers to be published online once they are accepted.
When submitting your expression of interest, please indicate your preference.
We are glad to announce that Manuel Sintubin and his group in Leuven had decided to organise next
DRT in 2013. Later on in the year they will give us more details about it.
Many thanks for those of you who collaborated in finding two more potential candidates that will be
kept aside for 2015.
Again, 21 OCTOBER is the deadline for sending the EXPRESSION OF INTEREST. Title and authors.
Best regards,
Sergio Llana-Funez (on behalf of the Organising Committee)
