Really sorry...just one more question.
You know when you add content an item at a time.....you get a lovely list
of documents within a content area and it all looks neat and gorgeous.
Well, unzipping into the Files area and linking to it via adding an item
results in a single link to a zip file which then takes students to an
abridged version of the Files area.
Is there no way we can unpackage any more into a content area so that all
items/folders are listed.
Hope this make sense....and sorry to take up so much of your time.....I'm
sure you've got proper work to do!
cheers
sarah

Re: Document Unpackager
You can go to the area of the course where you wish all the files to be
accessed. You can then add a new item and when you do this you will see an
option next to browse computer which says browse course. Click on browse
course and then navigate to your folder you have just uploaded in the
files area and select it.
Once you have done this then submit your new item and it should create a
link that takes the students directly to the contents of the file you have
uploaded.

Thanks for that Andy.
If I've now got my files unpackaged in a folder I've created in the files
area of a course, how do I then link to them in a content area? I can
only see to do this one at a time...which kind of negates the joy of
unpackaging a whole heap of stuff in one go.
I really hope I'm being stupid and missing something obvious.
cheers

You can use the two side facing arrows in the control panel on the files
option. This will then take you to a screen showing all your content on
the course.
From here you will be able to see an upload drop down option at the top of
the screen where you can upload zipped and unzipped documents.
Thanks
Andy

Subject: Document Unpackager
Hi there
My memory's so bad that I can't remember if I've posted about this
before...so apologies if I'm repeating myself.
We urgently need a way of unpackaging zip files within content areas in
9.1. The document unpackager currently throws it's teddy out in a grand
style and, understandably, because it's not a Blackboard product,
Blackboard don't support it.
I've tried to find a contact at Joliet, but with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I know that you can upload zip files into thecourse files area and can
display that zip from a content area, but the document unpackager did a
great job of properly laying out all content as it was originally
organised in folders, etc.
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
cheers
sarah
