I use Camtasia studio,
We had a template created with the intro and outro by Gavin Brockis from
Jisc Digital Media
<http://www.bris.ac.uk/ilrt/people/person/gavin-h-brockis>
(the music jingle was created by one of Bristol's Music Lecturers - I cant
find details to credit them).
Im pretty good with Camtasia but I cant stress enough how helpful it is to
have a template pre made - no more worrying about title screens or what
music I might make: simply record (tiny bit of editing), and drop into
template. It looks professional even when you do it in a rush.
(If you contact JISC, Gavin can give you advice on setting up templates - I
think they might even do a training session)
I output it as flash mp4 to a HTML container. We got best results by
exporting twice, once big widescreen dimensions and then small to fit a
netbook. You then drop the big file into the small container and you get a
video that can be played on a very small screen but still looks good on a
22 inch or projector if you full screen it.
I host them on the Blackboard Content System, drag and drop upload AND with
the output we selected in Camtasia it kind of streams - whats not to like.
I guess if you dont have the content system you might be able to host them
from a course files area (set permissions to public!).
Regards
Joseph
