The WELL (Women E-Mentoring in Lifelong Learning) Workshop
The UALL Women in Lifelong Learning E-Mentoring Scheme (November 2010 - May 2011) was a small-scale, inter-institutional scheme aimed at women working in a variety of roles in lifelong learning. Devised as a way of capitalising on women’s expertise and experience within the sector, the scheme offered an informal and cost-effective way of supporting female staff in developing career and professional strategies. Twenty-four women from nineteen institutions participated in the scheme.
As part of the scheme’s evaluation, funded by a Leadership Foundation for HE Small Development Project award, there will be a free Workshop event held at the Women’s Library, London Metropolitan University on Wednesday 26 October 2011 (10am-3pm).
The Workshop programme will include:
• presentation of the evaluation findings
• a keynote considering impact of gender in the academy
• a practical session based on the experience of a successful mentoring scheme for women in a different sector
• the opportunity for participants to consider strategies and ideas for
e-mentoring within their own organisations and contexts
The Workshop is open to all but will be of particular interest to:
• those working in the lifelong learning sector and tertiary education
• researchers in Women’s and Gender studies, Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring studies
• staff development practitioners and managers in all sectors
• equality and diversity practitioners
This event is free to attend but registration is essential. Please reserve your place at http://www.formstack.com/forms/uwe-well_workshop_registration
A flyer is also attached. Please feel free to forward this to colleagues, networks and contacts who may be interested.
Best wishes
