Did the evidence that the WHO classification was based on use iced samples? (I have my doubts).
Was the magic figure of 11.1 (200mg/dl) evidence based or was it a convenient number for non-SI users?

Subject: Re: Place samples in ice-water ...
Ice water is mentioned in a couple of other guidelines also,
http://www.clinchem.org/cgi/content/full/55/5/850
http://www.clinchem.org/cgi/content/full/57/6/e1
And based on work like http://www.clinchem.org/cgi/content/abstract/35/2/315?ijkey=5d5645f39536dbccee3600f40f53656283f4beba&keytype2=tf_ipsecsha
So what do others do? e.g sample types, length of time before separation / analysis and an additional question, do you do a capillary / POCT glucose measurement before giving the glucose load?
Cheers
Craig
