If you have patients with renal impairment in your comparison cohort
then you will likely have issues of specificity contributing to the
difference. May be worthwhile to see whether the difference is the same
in those with normal and abnormal renal function.

Subject: Abbott PTH reference range
Can I ask what other Abbott Architect users use for their PTH reference
range? We are currently changing to Abbott from Roche and are seeing
huge differences in results despite quoting similar reference ranges.
Thanks in advance

Looking at the EQA reports (NEQAS) wouldn't you expect a shift upwards
in results, and hence the ref ranges to be different (unless they are
fiddled adjusted)? How similar are the ranges?

We see an increase of 70% on the Abbott assay. The reference ranges are
virtually identical in the kit inserts.
