We had caprine penning deposits at Catal, described in the 2005-2006 series
of monographs. They were identified from the remains of trampled dung
rather than the pen itself. Out of the area, cattle penning has been
similarly identified from dung concentrations in southern Africa and south
India.

Subject: Archaeological evidence of corrals/pens
Dear Colleagues,
I have an Old Kingdom corral at Giza and am ramping up to publish. I
have the pig pens at Amarna, my corrals at Kom el-Hisn, the horse
corrals at Botai.
Anyone have evidence of corrals or pens at other sites in the Middle
East or North Africa? Thanks for the help.
