This is Gloucestershire County Council displaying its arrogance and disregard for the law and, having seen the need to issue an injunction in the first place, I do not think the judges will look to kindly it. They have spent the days since the injunction notice churning out this spin. Much of it claiming that communities are frustrated about the delay caused by the court case as they WANT to run their own libraries - claims which have been met with howls of outrage by many of these communities who have been strong-armed into forming "business cases" and have done so as a last resort whilst very much supporting the legal challenge.

You only need to look at the consultation feedback to see how opposed to the plans the public are

GCC are desperate to win a very unhappy public over with spin and premature claims of "big community" success and as a result are playing a risky game.
They are being watched very closely.
To all those who have witnessed Gloucestershire County Councils behaviour and alienation of library users since their plans were announced, this hubris and posturing comes as no surprise. They are sticking two fingers up at the lawyers and the courts in the same way they have to the residents of Gloucestershire
They seemed convinced that no one would speak out against their plans and were meet with fierce opposition. This is far from the first time they have been wrong.
