Assess the Hazards and Minimize the Risks
A Guide to Hazards in Collections: How to identify, isolate, handle and
store them is on 20 June. Bob Child is Creating Capacity's expert trainer
on this issue. He said,
'Collecting has been going on for over a hundred years with little thought
or knowledge of their potential hazards. Now with a better understanding of
the risks some objects may present and tighter laws on their use, it is
vital that those with historic collections can assess hazards and minimise
risks. This course will arm you with the knowledge and tools to do just
that.'
By the end of the day participants will have:
o An understanding of the main categories of hazardous materials
and how to identify them
o Knowledge of methods of safe handling and storage
o Awareness of legal requirements including documentation
You can book and pay for all the courses online or by credit / debit card
over the 'phone if that's easier for you. We're also delighted that
Renaissance London is again supporting the programme so that a number of
free course places are available for every training session.
Kind regards,
Lucy Auger
