medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Sorry, Christopher, but you get no help from me beyond a suggestion to re-read the announcement (whose French seemed pretty clear to me). This is not a new feature but rather an existing feature newly made available for documents other than maps. Some of these other documents (e.g. the ms. pages on which I tried the zoom feature yesterday) have been scanned at a high enough resolution to enable the viewer to do some good.
Even there, of course, better imaging would yield better results. The announcement's final sentence ("Nous pouvons ainsi consulter chaque œuvre dans ses moindres détails.") either a) is gasconading, pure and simple or b) proceeds from a defective understanding of what, in some cases, the "moindres details" might be.
Best again,
John Dillon
