Dear All,
In Kent I have been co-ordinating my volunteers over the last 18 months
to check all of our listed building record coordinates (18,000+). We now
have the same number as EH (apart from the few that we know about that
they have no digital record of, they are sorting that little oddity
out). We have also corrected the location of >500 buildings and
delisted/amended 50+. I now have my volunteers checking pre-1st edition
OS dated buildings against said map in order to check that the LB point
for the (e.g.) 17th century farmhouse is actually on a building that
pre-dates the mid 19th century. This is turning up hundreds of
corrections too. I had a work experience placement last week that
checked all of the K6 phone boxes in the county, using Google
StreetView, and lots of those had to be updated (often they are in the
wrong place or occasionally on modern phone boxes rather than the K6
further down the road).
If you are going to get a building delisted, make sure they update the
coordinates (if they are wrong) first! Apparently the new system has
some problems with updating details such as coordinates for
de-designated assets...
Happy to discuss methods used to run these checks if anybody else is
interested/considering doing likewise.

While I was adding the new NHL numbers to the Somerset HER, I came
across 4 buildings that didn't appear to be in the new list. After
checking on the online NHL, I alerted EH who (after some scepticism)
have confirmed that they are indeed absent and will try to sort it out.
If there are 4 in Somerset, it suggests a couple of hundred
country-wide. Has anyone else come across this and, if you do, could you
let EH know.
They were all list amendments rather than from Greenbacks. I expect they
were not passed to EH by DCMS.
