Dear All,
This appeared on the Geo-Tectonics list: I am forwarding it
to the Geophysics list in case there are members of this
list who are interested or could pass it on to people not on
either list who have skills in seismic interpretation.
Regards,
Sheila Peacock

Dear Geo-tectonics subscribers,
Let me introduce myself... I’m Euan Macrae, a 3rd year PhD student at
the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (UK). My PhD looks at
uncertainty and human biases in geoscience interpretation. Some of you
may even have taken part in my Freyja survey during 2009 and 2010 - see
link below for details. The uncertainty workshops (described below)
are a follow-up to the Freyja survey.
http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/geologicaluncertainty/freyjaquantifyinguncertainty/
For the workshops, I'm looking for groups of at least 6-8 geoscientists
to take part in an anonymous seismic interpretation exercise. It only
takes 1 hour and will be mutually beneficial, as (if wanted) I could
give a presentation of my results. Geoscientists should have at least 3
years industry experience and be based in the UK. The workshop will be
run in-house during September/October of this year and, to increase the
sample size, will be repeated with other companies/organisations. The
more participants the better.
If interested, please contact [log in to unmask] for full details.
I look forward to hearing from some of you.
Kindest regards,
Euan Macrae
