Hi Danielle
rather a distant Iron Age - but at Danebury hillfort in Hampsire Don
Brothwell thought that "the contrast [in frequency of traumatic injuries]
suggests to me the possibility of changes in the standards of husbandry,
especially in terms of manhandling the livestock". (p.233 in Danebury vol.6,
Cunliffe 1995, CBA Res Rep 102; The special anumal pathology by Don
Brothwell pp205-233) - with more injuries in "cp7", the late stage when
occupation was intensive.
cheers
