A composer roundtable discussion will feature Anthony Payne, Edward Gregson, David Matthews, Stephen Goss, Tom Armstrong and Emily Howard
The conference includes: performances by Uri Caine, and the Endymion Ensemble; a recital at Hatchlands Park using Mahler's 1836 Graf piano; an exhibition of Mahler-inspired paintings by Caroline Tate, accompanied by a sound installation, 'spirit redux', created by Matthew Sansom.
The conference is generously supported by the British Academy, the Institute of Advanced Studies (University of Surrey), the Royal Musical Association, The Institute of Musical Research, the Music & Letters Trust, and the Austrian Cultural Forum, London.
