You paste muslin or similar netting to the face of the mosaic using a
soluble glue. When that has dried, you cut through the mortar holding
the mosaic in place, gently rolling up the mosaic. It can be cut into
sections for ease of transportation. To re-lay the mosaic you
essentially reverse the process.
