Dear colleagues,
I am seeking the opinion about the clinical utility of beta-carotene
as a screening test for the malabsorption syndrome. There is
relatively little information available about this subject. It seems
that the cut off for this particular purpose is quite high (1 mg/L).
Is there any alternative screening test for malabsorption, besides the
determination of fat content in feces?
Thank you in advance,
