Not on the NHS - they are specifically for use while not in the UK.
If I thought eg. the acetazolamide request was reasonable (and I
spent a little time looking into the issue) then I gave private Px,
no charge by me for NHS patients.
Broad spectrum antibiotics - can't remember ever giving, but there
could be a place for it if someone is doing something VERY remote,
with no team doctor.
Overall though I don't think there is an obligation to do anything,
it's all non-NHS.
