We run keyskills exams from our main campus in York but also have 4 other satalite centres in more rural locations. Students either sit tests when they're on the main campus during block release or at a centre when trained centre staff are available to invigilate.

The vast majority of our apprentices come to main campus for block weeks, about 1 every 6 weeks or so. We are residential so it makes it easier to book tests in for the students. They can't say they're unable to attend when they're in hostels down the road!

We use NCFE for keyskills and have been able to install their software into some of our centres. For the others we use paper based tests.

Subject: SUGGESTIONS REQUEST

Hi everyone
As the number of apprenticeships will be growing for next year we will be preparing for the delivery and assessment of key skills for work based learners in the work place rather than attending college.  Has anyone got this sorted at their college with regards to who delivers the key skills, who invigilates for the exam, do you take a laptop to the place of work, how do you guarantee quality assurance?
I would be interested in a summary of your processes so we can discuss how these options would work for us at the College.
