Or the overall management or political system? As an engineer I find all these references to technology as if it is engineers who rule the world a bit strange. Given a market economy most commercial entities have economical guys/managers in the driving seat;-). Which appears to be (part of?) the problem. This is not the only case where it is really questionable if the market economy model is really the best one to apply to all systems - particularly when you have important factors to consider which have a cost that is hard to estimate. And sometimes when cost is too high (too hard to estimate) but paid by someone else (people living around, environment etc etc) the actual cost used by the decision makers seems to be put to zero...or am I just being cynical;-)?
