Dear Mark,
We have always received excellent service from Crystran Optics, who are based in the South of England. All our VUV optics (lenses, windows in MgF2, LiF and CaF2) have come from them and are of good quality. It is worth calling them to discuss your requirements. Here are their details, we normally deal with Chris Wallace ([log in to unmask]).

Subject: query on vuv optics
Dear All,
We want to buy a new vuv lens for collecting/focusing 118 nm, generated from 355 nm laser pulses. We previously had good long term performance in this application with a LiF lens from Janos Technology. They subsequently discontinued LiF but sold MgF2 optics for vuv. Now I see they've apparently gone out of the vuv optics business altogether. Can anyone suggest a vendor that sells vuv lenses of very good quality, likely to last for some time? (For the tripling, we send in ~10-15 mJ of 355 nm, which can result in damage fairly quickly if quality is not high.) I suspect that the suggested lenses may be MgF2, but if LiF is available with good long term performance that would be useful to know. What I do know is that optical quality is a real issue. In the past, we bought a LiF lens for this application from a Russian source. It had to be replaced within one week! For reasons like this, I really would value advice on what is a good source.
Thanks!
