Hi all - not a frequent user of the network, but have started finding it really useful!
We securely store all the evidence, make the applications to the awarding bodies, arrange for the data protection sheets to be signed, and also organise the readers and writers. We have created a database of all the evidence we hold, and the database details things such as College ID number, name, arrangement needed, type of evidence, date the evidence expires for the arrangement requested, etc. We tell learning support when a report needs updating, and bill them for the cost of the readers and writers.
We decided to take control of the access arrangement process after experiencing a lot of problems with the learning support staff not turning up to exams to read and write, even when they had said they would do it. Our learning support manager was happy to hand this over to us and just be billed for it. It's been working like this for about 4 years, and works well because we are in control of the whole process, with the exception of writing the reports! The only real problem we get now is when everything has been put in place and the student doesn't turn up!
Thanks,
Samantha Vowles

Subject: Re: Access Arrangments Applications
Hi,
We arrange/make all applications on receipt of a document from our Senco. These documents list the arrangement required and the answers to the on-line questions. We also access a list maintained by the Senco which gives minimal detail, reader, writer, p.c. etc.
All official documentation is kept by Senco and inspections are referred to her.
Really like the idea of applying a cut-off date, after all the exam boards operate one, and I have emailed our Deputy Principal to request we consider it. Last summer we were inundated with last minute applications for rooms, p.c.'s, readers, and writers.

Subject: Access Arrangments Applications
Hi
I would really like to gather the general working practise regarding the administravive workload for Access Arrangments. Does your SENCOs/Learning Support department process your Access Applications (online and postal) or is it soley the responsibility of your Exam Office team?
Look forward to reading your responses.
Elaine
