ASSISTANT RECORDS MANAGER (REF ROC205)
House of Lords Pay Band B2: £27,937 - £34,966
Reporting to the Parliamentary Records Manager, this post is involved in a wide range of professional work, offering an excellent opportunity to participate in every aspect of the records life-cycle.
As a member of the Records Management team, the postholder’s key activities will include:
• promoting good records and information management practices across the House administrations
• maintaining the corporate classification scheme and disposal practices (i.e. retention schedules)
• auditing compliance in offices with policy and procedures
• developing and delivering training
• providing advice, support and guidance to staff of both Houses
• appraisal of parliamentary records contributing to initiatives and projects which support better records and information management, including the implementation of an Electronic Document and Records Management System (through Parliament’s SPIRE programme).
Applicants should have a recognised qualification in records, archives, or information management, or comparable experience (if not enrolled in or having completed a postgraduate degree programme).
This is a fixed term appointment until October 2012, with the possibility of extension or permanency.
