Summary:
The Department of Music, University of Sheffield wishes to appoint a
Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Musicology specialising in 19th and/or 20th
century music. Additional interests in performance will be an advantage.
This is an ideal opportunity for a scholar with an outstanding publication
record and excellent teaching ability to join one of the major centres for
music scholarship in the United Kingdom, working alongside musicologist
Professor Simon Keefe to broaden the department's offerings in music
history. You will teach on the Bachelor of Music (BMus) and Bachelor of Arts
(BA), contributing to seminars for postgraduate students and providing
supervision for research students. An appointee at Senior Lecturer level
will take on a leadership role in departmental teaching and/or research.

Senior Lecturer in Music Performance specialising in Western music. This is
an ideal opportunity for a performer with a leading international reputation
and excellent teaching ability to enhance the distinguished profile of
performance at the University of Sheffield nurtured most recently by Prof
Peter Cropper and Prof Peter Hill. Your duties will include teaching
undergraduates and postgraduates, occupying the position of Head of
Performance, undertaking outreach work in the Sheffield and South Yorkshire
areas, and developing your own profile as a practitioner and/or scholar in
preparation for the Research Excellence Framework in 2014. This post is
