medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
How about something like
Nikanor, one of the Greek Jewish Christians listed in Acts 6.1-6 to help
deal with the dispute between "Hellenists" and "Hebrews" ... or the like?
The text is explicit about the named persons being Christian, and
implies that they would have been familiar with the problems confronting
the widows of Greek Jewish orientation ("Hellenists") over against those
of Hebrew orientation ("Hebrews"), and explicitly identifies Nikolaos as
a "proselyte" (presumably to Judaism), so it is fair to assume that
Nikanor would have been expected to be Jewish and Greek.
I know nothing about editing the archived materials.
