In the fifth century paper-making hadn't reached the Mediterranean (the technology is said to have reached Damascus only in eighth century and paper's export into European countries is thought to have begun only in the tenth century). Perhaps a sheet of papyrus is meant.
Piacenza's much rebuilt, originally later eleventh-century basilica di San Savino (consecrated, 1107) replaced a series of churches going back to the earlier fifth century and containing S.'s remains. Herewith a view of the interior and some views of its crypt:
