An introduction to SharePoint 2010
to be held at
CILIP, 7 Ridgmount Street, London, WC1E 7AE
Wednesday, 2nd February 2011, 9.30 – 16.30
Course Outline
Since the release of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 in May 2010 organisations have been evaluating the potential benefits of SharePoint 2010 and working through the application development and migration issues. This course will provide a synthesis of the knowledge gained by early adopters, and provide a good opportunity for attendees to exchange experience and find solutions to current SharePoint management problems.
Among the subjects to be covered will be
• A comparison between SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010
• An evaluation of the features of SharePoint 2010
• Using SharePoint 2010 for intranets and web sites
• How to develop an effective SharePoint governance policy
• Managing migration to SharePoint 2010
• Product options from other vendors
Who should attend
Intranet and web managers working for organisations that have decided to implement SharePoint 2010 and who wish to gain an understanding of the management issues that they will face in either adopting SharePoint 2010 or migrating from SharePoint 2010. This course is not suitable for IT managers requiring an in-depth technical appreciation of SharePoint 2010 functionality.
Course Presenter
The course will be presented by Martin White, Managing Director, Intranet Focus Ltd. He is the author of “SharePoint 2010 for Intranets” (published by the Intranet Benchmarking Forum) and will be offering experience gained from working with a range of clients who have, or are planning to, implement SharePoint 2010. His viewpoint is one of strict vendor neutrality.
