Hello,
It sounds like (via Dan) that the double-click method of opening Analysis
does swallow the error messages. To find out what is going wrong try the
following:
(1) Under the Start Menu click "All Programs" and then "Accessories" and
then "Command Prompt". That should open up a window with the default
location being your home directory. Work in that window.
(2) Type in that window:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\CCPN
Now that first directory has spaces in it and so the best way to get at it
is to type C:\Prog and then hit the tab to auto-complete. At first it
might give you "Program Files" rather than "Program Files (x86") and if so
just tab again and you should get to the correct directory, then type the
rest of the directory path above (i.e. \CCPN). Hit carriage return and
that should get you to the correct directory. (I am assuming that the
"(x86)" is in all the installations and not just ours. If that is not
correct then the CCPN directory might just be in plain old "Program
Files", but try the x86 one first. If you look in Windows Explorer it
should be obvious one way or the other.)
(3) Now type in that window:
analysis.exe
And it should start up Analysis. Only it presumably won't start up
successfully, but now hopefully it will at least give a sensible error
message, which you can email us. (On our computer I got a warning about
PyMC not existing, but that is not fatal.)
Regards, Wayne
