We are currenlty look at how we flag abnormal glucose results. We quote a reference range for fasting samples, but don’t currently have a separate range for non-fasting samples and would be interested to hear what other laboratories do. In particular do labs flag >6.1mmol/L as abnormal even if it is a non-fasting sample, do any use >11.1 mmol/L (based on WHO OGTT) or is some other value flagged as high for non-fasting glucose (and if so is there evidence to support this value).
