(copied below), that is currently open at the University of Hartford.

The University of Hartford invites nominations and applications for
the *Fellowship
in Sustainability* beginning in August 2011. Successful candidates will
demonstrate promise as a teacher/scholar or teacher/artist, and a commitment
to advancing interdisciplinary competence in the field of sustainability
across a diverse student body.
Competition for this Fellowship is open to candidates who have recently
completed all coursework toward a doctoral or terminal master’s degree. *The
University welcomes applications from candidates from any discipline
currently represented at the University of Hartford whose work in teaching
and research addresses issues of sustainability. (For a complete list of

post-doctoral candidates are also eligible.*
The University of Hartford’s academic mission is to engage students in
acquiring the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to thrive in, and

The Fellow must be in residence during the fellowship year and will be
assigned to a home department appropriate to his or her discipline.
Responsibilities include teaching one course per semester, conducting
research or scholarship toward the completion of their degree or as a
follow-up to their graduate work, giving at least one presentation or
performance to the University and/or Hartford community, and engaging in
academic service such as working with student organizations. Fellows will be
granted non-tenure-track faculty status at the Visiting Instructor or
Assistant Professor level for one year, and will receive a $35,350 salary,
benefits, and travel funds.
In addition to the curricula in its seven schools and colleges, the
University also provides interdisciplinary general education in the form of
the All-University Curriculum. It is expected that at least one of the
courses taught by the fellow, will be in this venue. These are team-created
courses with titles such as “Hunger” and “Living in the Environment”. We
expect the fellow will enliven conversations across departments and colleges
on the topic of sustainability.
For full consideration, applications should be submitted by January 31,
2011. All materials must be submitted *in a single PDF file* to <

copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts; two letters of reference,
including one from the doctoral or pre-terminal degree advisor; and a letter
detailing how they would engage in teaching and research or scholarship
activities during the year at the University of Hartford to further their
career goals and advance sustainability issues across our campus community.
