medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

anyone who has not seen what the Swiss have done to put their mss. on line is
in for a real treat.
the facsimile images of all pages in any given ms. can be scaled up to a size
which enables the reader to see the pores in the vellum --and all images, of
whatever size (the largest appears to be in the 1.1mb range) may be downloaded
with a simple right click.
the descriptions of the mss. (in various languages) appear to be, simply,
exhaustive, with long sections on suchlike things as "Writing and hands,"
"Decoration," "Binding," "Origin/Provenance," "Bibliography/Studies," etc.
--all with links to the individual leaves of the ms. in question.
here's an example:

one is hard pressed to think of what else could be done to present these mss.
Bravo Suisse!
hélas, there are very few mss. in Swiss collections which are related to my
own work, but perhaps the "en principe" stumblebums at the Bibliothéque
nationale, with their incompletely digitized (well, kinda, at 72 dpi)
collection might see this site and be shamed into some kind of Upgrading of
their Act.
