> We are trying to trace a chapel (of ease) which was once located in the
parish of Llangarron (Llangarren) in Herefordshire. The chapel served the
settlement
of Llangrove (Longrove). The only evidence so far is an
eighteenth-century map (site marked 'chapel: ruin'), field names (Chapel
Meadow etc), limited earthworks and eye-witnesses evidence of stones on the
site during the earlier years of the twentieth century. I have also
advised examining Bishops' Registers and wills in the hope of a passing
reference. Does anyone have any suggestions to other sources we could
examine?
Would the 1553 (or thereabouts) Church Goods Survey for Herefordshire
mention the place? I know chapelries are mentioned in the 1553 Wiltshire
survey.
