The Centre for Film Studies is delighted to welcome Jean-Michel Frodon,
the former editor-in-chief of Cahiers du cinéma, to deliver a talk
entitled 'Questioning the Contemporary Development of Film Festivals'.
The talk will consider how the proliferation of festivals has affected
film aesthetics and led to the rise of the ‘festival film’ and the
extent to which festivals have become an alternative circuit for
production and distribution outside the shrinking and increasingly
mainstream commercial circuit.
Date: Tue 9th November from 17:15 to 19:15
Venue: Arts Lecture Theatre at the University of St Andrews
