Dear All,
I wonder if I could ask all of those who measure NTproBNP on the Vitros what cut-points they use for acute and chronic heart failure?
The manufacturers insert gives decision thresholds of 125 pg/ml if younger than 75 years and 450 pg/ml if older than 75 years. In the NICE guidelines much higher levels than this are given though this may be for a different manufacturers assay. I dont think it is the Roche assay as the agreement between the Vitros and Roche is very close.[presumably because they use the same antibody].I take Dr.Collinsons point that these values may be too high.Does anyone therefore have normal, raised and high cut points for the Vitros NTproBNP as the clinical urgency for referral is much greater if the values are high.
Thanking you in advance,
