The updating is done by the 'community' itself....that is *anyone* who has
an interest. We have a number of people who actively edit and I do my bit
too....
This open approach means the service can be maintained at very low cost
(it's free/open to all) and my brief investigations show it to be more up to
date than some of the closed subscription services. Because of its focus on
*library* technology it also has deeper and more up-to-date in coverage on
technology issues of interest to libraries e.g. ebooks, open source etc)
than some more general services. I discussed some of these issues in a guest
post on September 20th on the Cultural Heritage Blog
http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/cultural-heritage/2010/09/20/the-library-technology
-market-a-case-for-an-open-conversation/
Do feel free to sign up and contribute...and in particular to edit the
details for your own authority. I'm always happy to help where I can if you
get stuck on anything
