Dear Tanya,
I have found an archaeological subadult premolar from Odocoileus virginianus with a caries cavity among the archaeofaunal materials from Becán, Campeche, Mexico. The find corresponds to the Late/Terminal Classic Period (AD 800 - 1000).
A picture and description of that tooth was published on page 275 of
Rahden (Germany): Marie Leidorf.
Greetings,
Chris
