Hello Matthew
Just to echo Diane's comments re. Loan type. We have used it since our
system was first set up, and as we understand it, it is purely a device
to be able to display the item type information on the webpac. It does
not have any direct influence on circulation rules.
One thing that we always stress to staff here is that there is no
automatic synching of the values in itype and loantype, so this is
always a manual process. We periodically run reports on the system to
look for mismatched values in these two fields in item records.
Best wishes
Janet
