Dear Mike,
Thanks for uploading the data.
The unusual thing with this data (probably due to its age) is
that when it was converted all the intensities have ended up
being negative. This is what is causing the problem with
FAST, although BET is insensitive to this.
All you need to do to fix it is the following:
fslmaths original -add 32768 original_fix -odt float
Then run BET and FAST as normal.
