Being a contributor to these Books (The Office and Philosophy, Lynch and
Philosophy and two more in the pipeline) I simply stress that the unexamined
film life is not worth the price of the ticket. You have to start somewhere
and before you can consume the intricacies of lines of flight and
deterritorializations it's nice to take baby steps by thinking about the
ethics of David Brent or the Freudian Thing in Mulholland Drive. Room for
all, and in my opinion more weapons to fight those who judge film by the
loudness of explosions(bombs or farts) or the number of positions in a sex
scene. Let Adam Sandler meet Aristotle I say
