Dear all,
I'm a PhD-student at the VU University, Amsterdam, studying bone
diagenesis and screening of material for genetic and isotopic work. I'm
currently looking for bone material for an experiment where I want to
test a method for obtaining reliable strontium isotope signal from
archaeological bones. For that I need a sample from an archaeological
bone with a typical stronitium isotopesignal that is different from the
strontium isotopic composition of the sediments they have been buried
within, i.e. a sea mammal buried on land. I would need to cut a 3x3 cm
fragment from a bone with a thick cortex. It is advantageous if also a
tooth from the same individual, and a soil sample from the site, are
available.
Does anyone know of material that could fit the bill and is available
for sampling?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Hege
