medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I'm thankful for the help that's been provided in deciphering the bits
of a pre-16th-century breviary that I'm currently working with, but
I'm starting to wonder whether anyone knows someone who has actively
worked on the history of how the Divine Office / Liturgy of the Hours
was said? I've picked up bits and pieces here and there, but I'm sure
I'm missing parts of the big picture.
(The particular case: I'm trying to come up with a complete
description of a table blessing -- "grace" before and after the meal
-- from the 1502 _Breviarium Gothicum_, which, understandably since
it's from a breviary, is rather, ummm, brief ;)
