Hello everyone
We recently convened a conference in Glasgow entitled “Stress Controls on Faulting, Fracturing, and Igneous Intrusion in the Earth’s crust” to commemorate the work of Ernest Masson Anderson. We enjoyed 3 days of talks, posters and lively discussion on a wide range of themes encompassing structural geology, seismology, igneous emplacement, rock mechanics and tectonics. We also ran 2 field trips exploring various aspects of brittle deformation in Scottish rocks. On behalf of the convenors, I’d like to thank the participants for contributing to a fascinating meeting.
We have received permission from the Geological Society of London to publish papers in a volume of their Special Publication series. Many of the attendees have already expressed an interest in submitting a paper, and submissions are now open at: http://gslspecpubs.allentrack.net
Submissions are not restricted to conference attendees or presenters: if you are working in a field related to the themes of the conference, we encourage you to submit your work too.
Authors can have unlimited colour figures in the online version of an accepted paper, and up to 3 FREE colour figures in the print version. Papers published in Geological Society Special Publications will be included in the ISI Web of Knowledge from 2011 (and indexed back to 2005). Guidance for authors can be found at: http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/gsl/site/GSL/lang/en/sp_authorinfo
The submission deadline for manuscripts is January 7th, 2011. We are aiming for a publication date of September 2011.
Best wishes,
Dave Healy
