Dear Zooarcher,

The 11^th ICAZ Conference will begin in 12 days!

We are regularly updating the 4^th circular
(http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?-THIRD-CIRCULAR) where you
will find all practical information.

Here are some important points, however.

1. Registration: it will be open between 3:00 and 6:00 pm on Monday 23
August. Please, don’t come earlier to the venue of the conference, this
would make things more complicated for us..

2. Opening session, 6:00 pm, Monday 23. *Only the delegates who are
registered and bore the badge that will be given to them at the
registration desk will be allowed to attend the conference.* You will
find detailed information for going from Jussieu-UPMC campus (the place
of registration) to the Cordeliers-campus (the place of the Opening
Session) at:
http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?How-to-reach-the-places-of-the

More information will be available at the registration desk. In
addition, for those who are afraid to get lost, the ICAZ-2010 staff will
lead them from the Jussieu-UPMC campus to the place of the Opening
session. The rendezvous is at 5:00 pm in front of the registration desk.

3. Oral presentations. Recommendations for the preparation of the
power-points are available at:
http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?-RECOMMENDATIONS-FOR-THE-

Those of you who would not be able to send their ppt before the
beginning of the conference, are invited to give their file in the
“Media preview room” as soon as they arrive to the conference venue.
However, in order to avoid overcrowding, the speakers of Friday and
Saturday are invited to give their file only on Wednesday (but not
later, please).

*Because it is absolutely necessary that all the parallel session begin
and end exactly at the same time, the session organizers will strictly
limit the presentations to 15 minutes plus 5 additional minutes for
discussion *(except for session S7.3 Central and Eastern Europe, for
which the presentations are 20 minutes)

4. Posters. Recommendations for the preparation of posters are available at:

http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?-RECOMMENDATIONS-FOR-THE,66-

*The delegates are requested to come to the conference with their poster
already printed. The organizing committee will not be able to print any
poster on the spot.*

Posters relating to sessions on 24 and 25 August will be displayed
during the first two days. Posters relating to the 27 and 28 August
sessions will be displayed during the last two days. *Posters from the
first two days will consequently have to be removed at the end of the
second day (25 August)* in order that the second wave of posters can be
installed first thing on the morning of 27 August. Only the posters of
session S5-3. Archaeozoology and palaeogenetics : Potentials and limits
will be displayed during the full four days of the conference

5. Excursions. The booklets of the excursions of Thursday 26 and of the
post-conference excursion are or will be available in the next days on
the website at:
http://www2.mnhn.fr/archeozoo-archeobota/?-EXCURSIONS-INFORMATION-AND-

Each excursion organizer will directly get (or has already got) in touch
with the delegates who are registered for their excursion in order to
provide practical information. Delegates will have to join by their own
the meeting place of the excursion. However, for the excursions “Urban
archaeology” and “Institut de Paléontologie humaine”, rendezvous will be
organised with members of the staff who will lead the delegates who are
afraid to get lost to the place of the visit.

We enjoy to see you soon,

All the best,

For the organizers

Jean-Denis Vigne, Marylène Patou-Mathis, Christine Lefèvre
